vintage guide

This is a list of brands I've been looking at lately when searching Mercari/eBay/Poshmark/Depop. Lately, I've been very inspired by mori girl, twee, and street fashion. One of my street style inspirations is Helena Bonham Carter. Some designers that inspire me (but that are far out of my price range) include Renli Su, Lemaire, Shushu/Tong, Sandy Liang, and Simone Rocha.

Generally, for anything from before the 00s, I look more to eBay or Mercari (especially Mercari JP, though I haven't ordered in ages because of the tariff nonsense). For stuff from the 00s and 2010s, I go for Poshmark because it's the most "millennial coded" resale website. Depop I mostly use for inspo - the resellers go way too hard on there. Though, I have found some good stuff - if you're able to find people who are genuinely just clearing out their closet there are good deals. You can also find great stuff by findind someone with cute items listed and going through their likes. Randomly, Etsy also has some good vintage clothing, especially for older vintage (like pre-1980s) and antiques.

A lot of these brands can be found second-hand for a reasonable price because they're not really widely known or "cool," but are still good quality. I'm especially a fan of adding a material or dated style element to my searches, eg "[brand here] silk" or "[brand here] bird print" to find the actual old stuff with the brands that are still active. In future, I'll add some pictures for reference.
